Dear Sir/Madam,

The Telecommunication Development Bureau of the ITU is organizing a Workshop on "Aspects of new EU Regulatory framework", which will take place in Sofia Bulgaria, 7-9 of December 2005, at the kind invitation of New Bulgarian University, Sofia.

This workshop has been developed as a part of Strategic Management Programme for the English-speaking Branch of the ITU Centre of Excellence for Europe and CIS countries. The official language of the Workshop will be English.

This workshop is a part of training activities of the CoE Strategic Management Programme for the year 2005.

The English-speaking Branch of the Centre of Excellence for Europe and CIS aims at creating a mechanism at regional level to strengthen the capacity of the Region to generate knowledge and experience on topics related to Strategic Management Programme.

  • Policy and Regulatory Trends in the e-communication Sector
  • Overcoming Entry Barrier
  • New Competition Regulation
  • Efficient Competition (Interconnection, LLU, Broadband)
  • The Universal Service
  • Regulation of Spectrum Management and Information Society
  • Company presentations

The training activities of this Branch are addressed specifically to governments and authorities in charge of telecommunication sector policies and regulation, as well as to high level executives and directors of telecommunication operators and providers of telecommunication services of the countries in the Region.

The ITU/BDT hopes that it can count on participation from your organization in this course and I also hope that the results obtained through it will contribute to the development of telecommunications in European countries.
