The Telecommunications Association is founded
on April 10th., 2002 as non-profit, non-governmental organization. It's
members are already 50 reputable legal and natural persons, among which
recognized public telecommunications operators, international and local
manufactures and suppliers of communications equipment, legal and telecom
consultants, IT and Internet businesses, the Sofia University "St Kliment
Ohridski" and the Technical Universities of Sofia as well the New Bulgarian
University, the University of National and World Economy, the Higher College
of Telecommunications and Post. The Telecommunications Association target
is to combine efforts, strengths and potentials of as many as possible
participants at the Bulgarian telecommunications market.
Key objectives of the Telecommunications
Association are:
- Co-operation in elaborating of the new legal framework,
- Consulting the national policy and regulatory authorities in telecommunications
market regulations,
- Participation in EU fostered programs,
- Promoting an improved information environment for telecommunications
players.
- Enhancement of qualification and professional training of its members'
staff,
The Association supports the business and professional relationships of its members, their ongoing dialogue with governmental authorities as the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, the Commission on Regulation of Communications, etc. The Association's would like to bring in local and foreign experts in Committees on issues like information technologies, R&S, legal, economic and others, directly relating to its members' activities. Furthermore, the Association plans to network others in the organizing of workshops, symposia and seminars, thematic exhibitions and other forms fostering the development of Bulgaria's telecommunications industry.
